storm
For those of you who like this sort of thing....

Caesar and Mina are very excited to have their floors and furniture mostly back in the right place now.
So today, we finally got our furniture back. It almost looks like our house again.
If you look closely at the fireplace, you'll see the new art we bought last week. Ironically, its a painting of three trees.
I have also included a bonus picture of some happy dogs, who now have their house back.

Well, we had quite an adventure with the floor install. The product line was discontinued, and the batch we got wasn't milled right. But the team from Lindsey's Flooring hand-milled the grooves between the boards, with permission from the Armstrong distributor, so the warranty is still good.
Some shots from today. They should finish tomorrow.

The installers came this morning to start putting in the new floor. One problem -- two high ridges in the slab meant that they had to spend most of the day applying concrete patch and waiting for it to dry.

But now we have the line board laid, waiting for it to harden, so the rest of the installation can move forward. Expect big progress tomorrow...
So we're getting there on the house repairs. Some quick pix to show (among other things) the new wall color that replaces the old walnut paneling in the den and the rebuilt corner of the house.

Well, alright. Just under two weeks later, we have a roof over our heads again. Big thanks to Matt at First General and to Jay and Red (and crew) from Premier Construction.
Last night we almost got hit by another thunderstorm -- hail and 60 mph winds were reported in the county. But it never rained at the house, which is good, since the roof wasn't fully shingled yet.

The construction started before 6:00 each of the last three days. Until today. the high in Augusta was over 102°, so they wanted to get working before it became too hot.
News12 in Augusta has some storm damage video now. Most of the cleanup footage was shot at our house, and the first video includes shots from the inside before we did any cleanup.

News12, by the way, was very respectful and we especially thank Melissa Tune and her cameraman (whose name I did not get) for their sensitivity on Thursday night.
I will be offline for quite a bit over the next few weeks. We suffered some severe storm damage yesterday. Everyone is ok, but we have lots of work to do to get our house back in shape.

See Day one Flickr set for more or the Morning after set.
A big thanks, by the way, to all the guys from Stallion and First General for their work last night.
After the cleanup, we have this:
