Going to Europe

Hey — just going to explot the Drupalverse for a minute.
My wife and I are planning our first trip to Europe. We intend to go in late September for two weeks.
And we’re going to the Low Countries: Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, (and maybe Germany).
If any of you have advice, please drop it in the comments.
We’re currently planning to visit Amsterdam, Utrecht, Antwerp, Brussels, Brouge, Liege, The Ardennes and Luxembourg City.
Our interests: Food, Art (viewing and buying), Protestant history, and beer. We dislike ‘tourists’ and prefer to blend in with the locals as much as possible.

We’re going to do a Drupal conference in Brussels — probably the weekend after OSCON Europe.
I live in Antwerp, and if time permits, can show you around in Antwerp.

Thanks. we haven’t finished the itinerary yet. I do know that we’re looking at 20 Sep to 9 Oct for dates.

some advice on the netherlands. if you dont want to go to the tourist places, dont go to amsterdam! the rest of the netherlands is rather nice :-)
utrecht is a lovely place, good city life, university, many colors, good nightbars, lots of arty things going on. 2 days no prop
haarlem is a nice city close to where i life. nice, no academic background but old centre. i like it, 6 hours and you have seen it (some nice galleries)
delft can be intersting for semi-tourist stuff. very old city with lots of canals, skip amsterdam, see delft
rotterdam has the richest modern style in the netherlands. be sure to read before you go, lots of new architecture, cabaret and art.
groningen is the best city in the netherlands (i lived there and studies there). very good nightlife, lots of art and museums
if you need more help, give me a mail
